Former Crewe Alexandra, Middlesbrough, Barnsley & Blackburn Rovers footballer.

 

Craig Hignett had a four year career at Crewe Alexandra playing more than 120 games for the club then in 1992 moved to Middlesbrough where he made over 150 appearances. During his time there, the club were runners up in both the FA Cup and League Cup Finals.

In 1998 he moved to Barnsley and then in 2000 for a fee of over £2 million to Blackburn Rovers where he won a League Cup winners medal. After Leaving Blackburn in 2003 he had short spells with a few clubs including Leicester City and Darlington before retiring from the game in 2007.

Craig is now a popular figure on the after dinner circuit with stories from his time in the game and the characters he has played both with and against.
